Underwater. Some Above. Contest.

My oldest son, Sullivan, saved up and bought a really nice digital camera before the summer started and we had been really wanting to try some underwater portraits, but the underwater housing for the camera is almost as much as the camera, so we hesitated.
Well, we changed our mind the first day of vacation and got on the internet and ordered & rush delivered the underwater housing to our vacation destination.
We had the most fun taking these. We took video and pictures from the time we got it until we left. Needless to say, we had so many to go through so we could pick favorites and these are the ones we picked.
The kids all have one of themselves on their wall in a 24x36 size and they are amazing and they get to fall to sleep thinking about all the good memories we made on our family vacation. I am trying to convince my husband now that if we build a pool this fall/winter, I could start offering underwater portraits in the spring/summer. We will see what happens!

My beautiful friend, Tara, of Weddings With Tara featured one of my newborns,
baby Micah on her blog- so if you would like to check out one
more pose, click on the link below.

If you are engaged or getting married soon - she is the best Wedding Coordinator in the area, so be sure to take a look at all of her AMAZING
weddings that she has posted, too.

Hey Miss Libby! BEAUTIFUL underwater shots. Is that ballerina costume waterproof? And if Tim lets you guys build a pool, you might not want to announce it on your blog. You might come home one day to find Paul and me...er...I mean random strangers taking advantage of it! Ha!

I hope I am doing this right, this blog thing is new to me :) Libby I have had an incredible summer being home on maternity leave. Just hanging out at home and watching John Daniel change day to day, using the newborn pics you took of him to help REFLECT how much he has grown, thank you so much what an investment this has already been in our life. Thank you Sarah DeVore

I am always up for something free so I will take this opportunity to tell how awesome those pictures are. I wish my kids could have been there. I bet the boys loved that. Tell Sull he has the biggest muscles I have ever seen.

How did they get those pictures? How did she do that? That is what Jacob keeps saying. He can't believe that you can take pictures under water. How Cool!!!!!

My favorite part about going back to school is doing my papers, because I like that part. I like taking pictures too and can't wait until I can get my own camera.

Dear Ms. Libby,

I like it when school comes back again, because then I can play with all of my brother and sister's toys in their room without them telling me no. :) :) :)

Hey Ms. Libby,
I have a beautiful bedspread that I really love from Pottery Barn Kids, BUT it has a really bad hole in it. I'm not sure how it got there, but there are poodle teeth prints around it! Needless to say, my puppies and I would LOVE a Pottery Barn gift card!
Lots of love,

About me...

I know a girl that hates the city but loves the country.
I know a girl that would rather be mucking-out stalls than at the mall
shopping for clothes.
I know a girl that would rather wear boots than heels.
I know a girl that knows horses more than her own back yard..
I know a girl that would rather jump than go to a concert.
I know a girl who has dreamed of getting a horse rather than some guy sweeping her off her feet.
That girl just so happens to be me.

Libby! SO glad that you got the underwater housing. The pictures are AWESOME. Were you frightened the first time you put it in water? I would be scared that the seal wasn't good or something and that I was going to ruin my camera, lol!! I hope you get your pool. :)

Here's my contest comment:

So of course you know you are one of my favorite people and I love you SO much! And I mean that.

School is about to start back, and there is so much that is changing. It will be hard to get used to. Daniel and I are sending Hannah to preschool 3 days a week at North Asheville so that she can make some friends. We are excited for her, but she's my baby and...well, it was everything I could do not to cry while we were buying school supplies. Enough said. On the bright side, I am the new librarian at NACS, and I am super excited not just to be a part of something so wonderful, but to be near Hannah just in case she needs me. God worked everything out so perfectly, He knew what we needed when we needed it. School starts back for Daniel and I too, and we are nervous because our lives are so full, but we know that God will keep us afloat. I am in awe every day at His goodness and His provision, no matter what happens.
